Karma for Kids

One of the first stories that caught my eye was Karma for Kids. I have heard about karma before such as on TV or conversations with people. For example, the other day someone gave my friend counterfeit money and my friend told that person that "karma was going to get him" after he refused to give her real money.  The title, Karma for Kids depicts exactly what was going on in the storybook. There were these triplets, Pran, Ravi, and Supriya who were very mischievous. The children would fight and tease others. Vina, their mother, struggled with their rambunctious behavior. After Vina told the triplets stories of The Ramayana, they began to understand the concept of karma and their behavior improved.

Ganesha Loves His Food

The second story that caught my eye was Ganesha Loves His Food. What caught my eye about this story was the title along with the design of the story. I am a food lover myself especially with sweets. The story mentions modak, Ganesha's favorite food, throughout the story. It sounded delicious which makes me want to try it one day. The author also uploaded a picture which did not help satiate my hunger. The introduction image also intrigued me. It was a picture of the elephant which I have commonly associated with India. Although I would have liked a next page button, the story was not hard to navigate. Overall, I liked the design where the picture was big at the top, I will probably use a design like this in the future. I loved the way the author wrote his story. It was very modern and comical. I appreciate the use of celebrities as they made the story entertaining.

The Lovers of Zeus

The last story that intrigued me was the Lovers of Zeus.  I used to take Latin class so we would dabble in mythology sometimes. I have heard about Zeus's numerous affairs, but I did not know that Zeus had an affair with Aphrodite. I have heard about Hera's jealously and ploys such as turning a mistress of Zeus into a cow. It was different to see Hera team up with Aphrodite against Zeus as she usually turns her wrath against the woman. I think the title did a good job letting me know what the story was about, because the story was about Hera and Aphrodite the lovers of Zeus.
